Anderson wanted to be a Batman/Spiderman, Mommy wanted Anderson to be an unbranded superhero. Any mask & cape = very happy Anderson. Dressup day at Best Start - Flying Superhero during circle time.
About this blog
About this blog
A journal of my ideas on homeschooling. Also, a place to archive activities we've done and things we've learned along the way. I will showcase pros and cons of homeschool versus public school, as I work though these ideas and how they fit into my life. I, by no means, judge those who feel public school is a better fit for their family. It may be a better fit for our family one day too.
But where we sit right now is that the fit for our family is to have our children at home full-time. They are both not even school age. But our family's choice is to choose at home (and out in the world) care, learning and socialization by their mother (father, granparents, auntie) over daycare or preschool.

A is for Anderson
... and apple too! Love this morning where he's in his PJs and work gloves holding a turtle wearing Mr. Potato glasses and drawing about how A is for Anderson and apple. All on his own. Little kids are wired for learning and creativity all on their own. I hope this blog never comes across as, "look what my brilliant kid did'. Normal 3 year old stuff. I just like documenting and pointing out these neat things that 3 year olds come up with.

field trip
We went on a field trip with BestStart. We took a bus with a bunch of 1-3 year olds and their moms, dads, grandparents. There were some daycare groups there when we arrived. I noticed that large group field trips, end up being kids corralled around to each activity and a big part of the day is spent trying to keep them together.
Our group, of parents and kids, moved from each activity as well, but the kids were getting individual attention. And because each kid (or sibling set) had an adult, we could leave the group when we were done with say pumpkin painting, check out the turkeys, and then return and continue on the tour.

later that day...
Anderson taking a photo of his great-grandma, "Pra Baba". Spending time with grandma, "Baba". Following our shadows to the park. Running through the forest. Climbing and swinging on a sunny September day.
